Morgan | Senior Photography

Filed under: Senior — crystalrosephotography @ 6:44 pm

The past two weeks have been a bit crazy with how well my business is taking off, along with Justin(BF) starting school for the first time in 5 years, multiple sessions,  trying to launch my website and managing the other 2 jobs I have. It was inevitable that my body would give up at some point and by midweek I was down for the count! I’ve was sick as a dog at hating it. I still am in recovery mode, but I do not like being behind on my posts and to do lists so I brewed some coffee and got down to business this morning.

Morgan is a 2010 Senior and a referral from the Bridgeman Family. It makes me so very happy and proud when clients share my work with friends and family – I love referrals!  It is the utmost compliment anyone can give!    I was very excited to find out that she was going to bring her energetic dog, Normy with her to the session. I have a big soft spot for small dogs and I felt a connection with this little guy, because he is adorable and feisty like my dog.  He is known to nibble on ankles  and as we would say at our house  he is a little shark on legs.  She is a beautiful young lady and I am thrilled with how her pictures turned out. Thank you Morgan for showing up and working it! I can’t wait to share the rest of the images with you and your family.

Lawrence, Kim & Savannah | Family Photography

Filed under: Kids + Family — crystalrosephotography @ 4:51 pm

K + L + S were my second session at St. Anthony Main this week. I know Kim pretty well, but I had yet to meet her husband and adorable daughter Savannah. I’ve seen many pictures of the family over the past couple months, so I was very excited to set up the date. Saturday was a beyond gorgeous day, and hot too. I got up bright and early to visit my friend Ashley R., aka my personal Therapist at Estetica Salon in St. Paul. All the ladies out there understand that your stylist is much more than a conduit to making you look  fab, but truly to air all your gossip and talk about all the wonderful things going on in your life or even how good/bad your week was.   If your looking for a new stylist, you should check this Salon & Ashley R. out (  http://www.esteticastpaul.com/).  I heart this girl, she does awesome updo’s as well for all you Brides looking for a Salon for your wedding. When I met up with the family  I almost wanted to get in front of the camera myself. As you can tell I focused more on my clients, but I felt pretty darn good behind the lens.

Happy Monday, Thanks for stopping by!

R + C are one rockin couple! We had a great time walking around St. Anthony Main this morning. It was the third time this week  I’ve shot a session at this location and you think I would have been sick of it, but I wasn’t – just can’t get enough.  We really wanted to squeeze in  engagement pictures before the big day, so we managed to meet up and work it out!   I am bringing my friends Marcia  & Aimme with me to shoot the wedding next month, Charles’s Angles perhaps? Marcia is also is a  crazy blogger like me ( http://www.falkmanphotography.blogspot.com/)you should check it out and show some love!

Also,  on a very exciting note. I will be launching my new website within the next 1-2 weeks. I’ve been working my butt off all summer putting together my portfolio and  I am soooo ready to go-live with my official website. Not that my blog is not cool, I just needed to step up a level. I appreciate the ongoing support of my friends, family & clients, there is much more to come for this little lady!

I’ve been waiting for a family session where I would shoot on location at their home. I had the opportunity this family at their home this past Thursday. Autumn is just a  cutie pie, when I came in the front door she came running around the corner in her little blue and white dress and I almost died!   I’ve seen her grow from a baby to the toddler she is now, and I am just amazed how she is coming into her own and how smart she is already. She is a spiting images of her beautiful mother, a mini-Heidi.  John and Heidi also welcomed their youngest, Ashlynn in to the world this past June. I thought a session at their home would be a great opportunity to snap a new family picture  in a relaxed atmosphere and I will admit I am very happy with the results. Thanks again for inviting me into your beautiful home.

Victoria – Miss Teen Minnesota USA Contestant | Portraits

Filed under: Portraits — crystalrosephotography @ 4:44 am

I spent my evening with Victoria whom I am sponsoring as a Photographer for this years Miss Teen Minnesota USA Contest. My assignment was to come up with a head shot .  All I can say is this girl is fierce! When shooting outside of the Theater people walked by and all this one lady turned to Vic and say  ” be fierce,” because she just is- the girl knows how to work a camera!  Not only is she a stunning beauty she has a glowing personality to boot. I work with her mother and I always ask her, where do you find teenagers like her?  I am very excited for the competition in November, I hope she will take home the crown!

Courtney & MacKenzie | Hastings Children’s Photography

Filed under: Kids + Family — crystalrosephotography @ 6:17 pm

This past week I had the privilege to have a session with two adorable sisters. I’ve known these girls for about as long as I have worked at my current job with their mother -2 and a half years or so.     We had planned to meet at the Falls in town and thought the rain would blow over by the time we needed to start our session. Boy- we were wrong. I was motivated to shoot regardless since I drove from Minnetonka to Hastings. On way to meet the family I came across this adorable ice cream shoppe, The Schoolhouse Scoop.   Half our session ended up being shot at there – which played out very well for the girls who got ice cream out of the deal.  On a technical aspect, I have done most of my session outdoors in sunny weather, so this was a great challenge for me as a photographer to adapt to my surroundings.  We all still managed to have fun and sneak a few  outdoors shots in after waiting for almost an hour for the rain to blow over.  Enjoy the pictures!

This is a great opportunity for kids + families, couples or even seniors to set up a session before the busy holiday season.  I am a  October baby and I adore evertything around this time of year – the smell of the air, the cool fall nights & bonefires, Halloween and of course my birthday.  Send me an e-mail crystalrosephotos@gmail.com or give me a call to hold your session.

The Almquist Family

Filed under: Kids + Family — crystalrosephotography @ 4:21 am

If I could do a search for “nice people” on Google, I think the Almquist Family would show up- truly they are one of the nicest families in Lakeville! I’ve know the family for a couple years or so. I tell you they always put a smile on everyone face when they are around, and you can tell they care a lot about each other. They are a perfect example of what a family should be!  We decided to meet at Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville, so we each didn’t have to drive far from our homes. It was the first time I’ve ever shot at that location, and I tell you I plan to return their potentially when the leaves start to turn this fall. There are so many trees and beautiful backdrops that I am starting to look forward to September/October! Forgive me because the entire summer has been somewhat cold, but you can understand why! If this is something you’d be interested in, drop me a line!

The Bridgeman Family

Filed under: Kids + Family — crystalrosephotography @ 2:57 am

The Bridgeman Family or as you might notice as the blue eyed family are beyond adorable. I met the family at a local restaurant where I work. I normally don’t  talk much about myself unless it is a regular customer that I’ve gotten past the “do you want fries with that burger” part. On the other hand the first time I met the family I just felt as if they were friends. After taking their order and getting to know them a little bit more they let me hold their little girl(as I think she is doll, and joked about just keeping her for myself). It really didn’t hit me until right before they were leaving that they would perfect portfolio family! I  mustered the courage to ask them if they would be interested in letting me take same new family photos.  As you can tell from the post they said yes!  We met at Dana’s house in Lakeville (friends of the Bridgeman’s) and all I can say is that her landscaping and gardens were stunning, she is Master Gardener too btw.  This is just part 1 of the post, I hope to get around to part two this weekend!  Thank you Bridgeman’s I hope to see you in the future, you are wonderful.
